Pride in our history, respect for new innovation

From its traditional roots in the livestock and rodeo industry to its new cultural and culinary districts, Fort Worth has always been a diverse city. You’ll see policemen riding on horses with cowboy boots downtown, jazz pianists tucked in bistro corners on Magnolia Avenue, and historic houses lining the quiet streets around Texas Christian University. Families, retirees, and young businesspeople love living here! Fort Worth has a tradition of pursuing excellence and developing substantial relationships in business, social, and religious circles. While you’re here, be sure to take advantage of the city’s most popular destinations, and maybe even discover some new places of your own!

A growing city with a grounded sense of identity

Fort Worth has seen a lot of changes in the past 10 years. Through it all, however, it maintains that sense of community and collaboration, all in the pursuit of the good life. Whether you’re here for a day or a decade, we in Fort Worth have something to offer to you; and we’re excited to see what you have to offer to us. Check out a sample of a weekly schedule for our visitors!

Activities during the week

Monday Begin your Fort Worth visit with a trip downtown! Check out the coffeeshops (this one has chocolate milk on tap), bookstores, and the cool architecture! Be sure to visit Sundance Square for the outdoor kid-friendly water feature and dip your toes in to cool off. Sundance Square also has concerts, movie nights, and lots of other fun events throughout the year! Eat at Uno Pizza for an extensive kid-friendly menu and wonderful pizza, or grab a rooftop drink at Reata for happy hour with a view.

Tuesday We’re lucky to be only minutes away from the Fort Worth Nature Center, with trails to explore and wildlife to see! Tuesdays are for tacos, and Fort Worth has plenty of options. Visit Velvet Taco if you’re feeling hipster, El Paseo if you have time to sit for a family-style meal, or Rosa’s for tacos fast and cheap.

Wednesday Families love living in Azle, and it’s easy to see why. The newly-covered park is shady and cool, next to a walking trail as well as volleyball and basketball courts! Natalie’s Snow Shack has snow cones for $1. Rock Bottom Liquidation is a great stop if you’re a bargain fanatic! The public library is a hidden gem. Red’s Burgers is the local favorite for burgers, and check out the public accesses and trails to Eagle Mountain Lake, too!

Thursday Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Fort Worth without stopping by the stockyards. Historic sites, restaurants, and boutiques galore: you might even catch sight of some livestock! Enjoy the view of downtown from the brick road.

Weekend spots to check out

Friday In addition to our rich historical significance, Fort Worth’s museum district is the most unique in North Texas. Visit the Kimbell to see their rich permanent collection of sculptures and paintings from a diverse range of time periods and geographic areas! The Amon Carter is nationally famous for its photography and western collections. Check out the events at the Modern along with their intriguing visiting exhibits! After your day at the museum, head down the road to Fort Worth’s newest cultural district: West 7th. You’ll find a dinner movie theater, bars, an urban-living redevelopment area (including residences, retail, and restaurants), and fun popsicle treats at Steel City Pops!

Saturday After your busy week, relax and picnic at the Botanic Gardens; be sure to check out the Japanese roses! Stroll on the Trinity Trails beside the river, and check out the downtown skyline from across the way. Panther Island has concerts in the summer and events all year round!

Sunday Finally, Fort Worth has churches for everyone, from Catholic to Anglican to Evangelical to Baptist! Finish your trip to Fort Worth with lunch or ice cream on Magnolia Avenue (another new cultural district), and start planning your next trip to Cowtown. We’re always happy to see you!
